“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life”

Ian Melrose is a meditation teacher with more than fifty years of practice. Trained and working in Osteopathy, Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine in London, he combined practical healing with an inward path that deepened over decades. A formative period in the USA saw Ian and his wife co-manage a Vipassana meditation centre; later they founded and ran a meditation and practice centre in New Zealand.
From this long immersion, Ian developed INsight~Nidra, a unique restorative approach to guided meditation that blends the deep, systemic rest of Yoga Nidra with the clear awareness of Vipassana, enriched by visualisation, archetypal work, and chakra-related practices. The method supports nervous system reset, improved sleep, and fosters natural mental, emotional, and physical healing.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of teachers and traditions, Ian acknowledges with gratitude influences such as Babaji, Paramahansa Yogananda, S.N. Goenka, Ramana Maharshi, Mooji, Thich Nhat Hanh, Swami Jnaneshvara, Eckhart Tolle, Russell Williams and Dr. Richard Miller.
Now living in the north of New Zealand, Ian is dedicated to sharing his practice through in-person Retreats and a growing online community, including monthly live sessions on the global meditation app Insight Timer.

Shelley is a third-generation Pilates instructor who began her career in Sydney studios when the method was still primarily practiced within dance and theatre circles. She later established her own studio in Woollahra, Sydney.
Now based in Wellington, NZ, Shelley works with Pilates clients while establishing her own approach, Origin of Movement. This method brings together the most effective movement techniques she has learned over the years from gifted tutors in dance and physical wellbeing.
Since 2019, Shelley has practiced Yoga Nidra meditation with Ian Melrose and helps coordinate wellness Retreats with INSight~Nidra, where she teaches Origin of Movement as preparation for Yoga Nidra. Shelley brings enthusiasm, playfulness, and a genuine love of movement to her sessions, helping students discover a sense of spaciousness and freedom in the body.

200-hour Yoga Instructor. Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.
Dana’s path into yoga and meditation has unfolded over more than 15 years, guided by a deep curiosity about the body, mind, and spirit. After completing her 200-hour teacher training in 2019, she began sharing her practice while continuing to study with her teacher and is now working toward her 500-hour certification.
A dedicated Vipassana meditator, Sound Healing facilitator, and Reiki practitioner, Dana’s work bridges movement, breath, stillness, and vibration. Her journey has been shaped by years exploring culture and cosmology, and by living and travelling through China and Southeast Asia, where she immersed herself in diverse traditions of wisdom and healing.
In her classes, Dana weaves somatic awareness, breath connection, and the quiet power of simple movement to open channels of ease, strength, and energetic flow. She invites students into a space where subtle shifts can ripple into profound transformation.
Dana is regularly a supporting Teacher at Ian’s in-person Retreats
